App store sweepstake…

Apple event

12 months ago I was in a meeting  discussing the recent Apple press event in which CEO Steve Jobs announced that in 4years from its launch  6.5 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store.

Whilst we sat in awe we  playfully had a wager on what the number would be by the summer of 2012.

My prediction was 12Billion, Josephs was closer to 20Billion. Bearing in mind that Apple went on to announce they had reached the 10Billion mark in early February 2011 I think I’ve probably lost this one.

Whatever the outcome of our sweepstake, I think congratulations are in order to the corporate team at Apple – very impressive!
